In this message, I want to turn everyone's attention to the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. This is a wonderful book that has many prophecies about earth's history and what will happen at the end of the world. My focus today is a prophecy in Daniel 2:31-35 (dream) and Daniel 2:36-45 (interpretation). It is one that would outline this earth's history. This prophecy is absolutely amazing and it starts back in the time of Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar had just conquered Jerusalem as he had been conquering many other places also. He was very proud of his kingdom and took great pride in his victories. While in Jerusalem, the king's armies took captives back to Babylon and among the captives were 4 outstanding young men (Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah). These 4 men were basically chosen for their brightness and wisdom. They were brought into the king's palace and trained to become Nebuchadnezzar's wise men. Then one night, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and when he woke up he "supposedly" could not remember what it was that he dreamed. This troubled him so much that he summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers of his kingdom to tell him what he had dreamed. The wise men told the king "Oh king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it." He told them that if they could not tell him what he had dreamed and interpret it, he would have them cut into pieces and their houses turned into piles of rubble. Talk about pressure! The king had thought that they were trying to gain time and he said that since he had decided to destroy them, they were conspiring together to tell him misleading and wicked things to just get by. Basically just making up any interpretation would work, but King Nebuchadnezzar was smart, he wanted them to tell him the dream first to make sure that they were true in their interpretation and not liars. The wise men said that only gods could make this dream known to the king. This made the king so angry and furious that he sent out the decree to have all the wise men of Babylon destroyed. Then the king sent out his guards to slay all of these men, but Daniel spoke to the commander of the guards and asked if he could talk to the king and ask for time because he believed that he could tell the king his dream and interpret it. Then Daniel returned to his home and told his friends that they needed to pray that God would reveal this dream to him and let him interpret it so that they would not be killed. During the night, the dream was revealed to Daniel in a vision. This is the dream and interpretation…………….

Nebuchadnezzar's Dream
31 "You looked, O king, and there before you stood a large statue—an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. 32 The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, 33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay. 34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. 35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 "This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king. 37 You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; 38 in your hands he has placed mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold. 39 "After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth. 40 Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. 41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. 42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay. 44 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. "The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is trustworthy."


Now, before I go into what this actually means to us in our day, let me show a couple of verses first.

(2 Peter 1:19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.

(Amos 3:7) Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

These verses are telling us that we can have faith in the prophecies because they are true and just. God will reveal the answers to us. This prophecy is outlining this world's history. This statue in the dream represents all of the world empires that have come upon this earth. If you check in any encyclopedia or history textbook, you will see that this is exactly what has come to pass.

Q. What does the head of gold represent?

A. Babylon, the first world empire 605-539 BC. Daniel 2:38………..This was an amazing kingdom. It had walls of great size surrounding it. The walls were 15 miles on each side of the kingdom, making a total circumference of 60 miles! The walls were 65 feet wide at the bottom and 55 feet wide at the top. The top of the walls were wide enough to have 4 horse chariots side by side ride around the city! The coolest thing about this whole empire was that the Euphrates River ran right through it, under the walls, through the city and out the other side. In Daniel 2:39 it says that another kingdom of silver would arise, but would be inferior to Babylon…….that's exactly what happened, just as silver is inferior to gold.

Q. What does the chest and arms of silver represent?

A. Medo-Persia, the second world empire 539-331 BC. If you check in history, the Medes and the Persians joined together and wiped out King Nebuchadnezzar's armies and gained control. Just as silver is inferior to gold, Persia's currency and medium of exchange was silver. Persia was greater in numbers and had bigger armies, but would not reach the same glory as Babylon, just as the Bible prophesied. THIS STORY IS AMAZING ------->In Daniel Chapter 5 there is a story of Nebuchadnezzar's "supposed" grandson, Belshazzar. While his father and his father's men were out in war, Belshazzar had a big party in the main banquet hall for thousands of his nobles and drank wine with them. When Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem, he had taken the gold and silver goblets as a symbol for victory. Belshazzar gave orders to have the goblets brought out so that they may drink from them and mock Jerusalem, God's people. As they drank, they praised all of the false gods of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone. Suddenly, fingers of a human hand started writing on the plaster of the wall. Belshazzar was scared to death, so he called in all of the wise men of Babylon to tell him what the words were and their meaning. He told them that whoever could interpret the meaning of these words would be clothed in purple, given a golden necklace and then made third ruler of all the kingdom. None of them could do it and then the queen of the palace told Belshazzar that there was one man that could tell the meaning. So they brought in Daniel, at the age of around 70 now, and he told them that they could keep their reward because he wouldn't need it. These were the words………….
MENE = God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
TEKEL = Thou art weighed in the balances, and thou art wanting.
PERES = Thy kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians
What Daniel told him was that the Medes and the Persians would conquer Babylon. That very night Belshazzar was slain and Darius The Mede took over the kingdom at the age of 62. Historians have concluded that Darius The Mede was another name for Cyrus. That very night, Cyrus a Persian general, had a whole army digging at the foot of the wall where the great Euphrates River went into the city. They channeled and diverted the water into a dry basin and the army went underneath the walls and marched into the palace. They came to the main gate and it was unattended because the guards had been drunk and left it open. They went in and killed everyone in the kingdom except for the old wise man Daniel. THIS IS THE AMAZING PART!!!! In (Isaiah 45:1), a prophecy was made about this very moment.
Isaiah 45:1 – Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
WOW! This is a prophecy about the downfall of Babylon and the Lord even called Cyrus by name! The crazy part is that this prophecy was made 150 years before Cyrus was even born!!!

Q. What does the belly and thighs of bronze represent?

A. Greece, the third world empire 331-168 BC. Led by Alexander the Great, his armies came down upon the Persian armies with great swiftness and then gained control. Bronze weapons and bronze armor was used in the Greek armies. Anyone with any sense about the Bible knows that it is very dangerous when you put yourself in such power to be worshipped as a god. That is exactly what many of these rulers did. They put their names on the coins and declared to be revered as gods. In this case, Alexander The Great made a pilgrimage near the end of his life to the Temple of Amon-Ra in Egypt. There, he was declared to be the son of Ra hoping to get "god status." He then sent out a decree that all should view him as a god. Alexander had a problem with alcohol and he died before they had a chance to enact it. His top four generals started fighting over who should get control of Greece……thus fulfilling another bible prophecy, Greece was divided into 4 parts.

Q. What do the legs of iron represent?

A. Rome, the fourth and final world empire 168 BC- 476 AD. Rome was the next to come into world power. Rome used iron swords when they went into Bethlehem to kill all of the babies. It was an iron cat-of-nine-tails that was used to whip Jesus before his crucifixion. They had iron weapons, iron nails, and an iron spear was used to pierce Jesus' side. Many say that iron swords could basically chop a bronze sword into two pieces.

Q. What do the feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay represent?

A. The ten divisions of Rome 476 AD – Jesus' second coming. Rome fell into 10 divisions when the barbaric tribes and the Huns attacked from the North and the German tribes invaded by sea. Rome basically fell apart from within before these attacks. Historians believe that many of the things that America is struggling with today, also caused the fall of Rome. The 10 divisions are known today like this.....

1. Anglo-Saxons - English
2. Franks - French
3. Alamanni - Germans
4. Lombards - Italians
5. Visigoths - Spanish
6. Burgundians - Swiss
7. Suevi - Portuguese
8. Heruli - extinct
9. Vandals - extinct
10. Ostrogoths - extinct

The last three are now extinct, which fulfilled another Bible prophecy that I will address in a later message.

These 10 kingdoms would never succeed in uniting (Daniel 2:43) Iron does not mix with clay and so would the people of this time period. They would not cleave to one another. They would be a mixture and not unite. Many have tried to unite these divisions, but all have failed because the prophecy in the Bible holds true.
Saddam Hussein – FAILED - He actually claimed to be the great, great, great, great, great, great grandson of Nebuchadnezzar. There was a newspaper article somewhere that said he had himself photographed in a replica war chariot of Nebuchadnezzar's. So with Nebuchadnezzar being an idol of Saddam's, he wanted to rebuild Babylon. He succeeded in building a section of the wall for tourists to view and one of the gates, but he could not restore the old glory of Babylon because of a little something called ……Desert Storm! This war cost him so much that it drained Saddam's treasury and he lost his funding to continue his Babylon project. Babylon still lies in ruin today.

Charlemagne – FAILED

Louis XIV – FAILED

Kaiser Wilhelm – FAILED

Napolean – FAILED – He came the closest. It seemed that he was conquering everything and everyone, but then at Waterloo it was as if divine intervention happened and brought him to a halt.

They even tried through intermarriage. Queen Victoria of England had 9 sons and they intermarried with all of the heads of states in Europe in an attempt to unite these divisions through bonds of peace – FAILED

Adolf Hitler – FAILED – He believed that if he joined power with Mussolini they could establish this power. He actually tried to change prophecy, HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING!!! He knew the scriptures and still tried!

Q. What does this "rock" smashing the statue mean?

A. This Rock symbolizes the second coming of Jesus Christ. (Daniel 2:44) God will set up a kingdom that will last forever. We are most definitely living in the time of the end. Many prophecies of the bible have been fulfilled.

Many will travel to and fro and knowledge will increase (Daniel 12:4)
Now, lets think……….

Has there been an increase in knowledge in our lifetime? Do people travel to and fro?
Technology is amazing these days. It seems like we can do absolutely anything. Airplanes, some people that are living today, remember back when they were little and airplanes weren't even thought of. Now we can be all over the world in one day's time. These are just a couple of the many signs that God gives to show us that we are living in the time of the end. Jesus is definitely coming and I believe it will be soon, sooner than many think. The bible says that he will come like the flood of Noah's day. Back then, people were drinking and marrying and then …………..BOOM!...........It came from out of nowhere!

How many of you have heard that Jesus is coming "like a thief in the night?" Many believe that Jesus will come down and swoop up the righteous of the earth and the wicked will be "Left Behind" in the blink of an eye. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! How many of you have ever read the books or seen the movies "Left Behind?" This is the most deceiving piece of literature and film in the world today. It is a total deception as to how Jesus is coming. Why is this important you say…………Satan will attempt to deceive many, even the elect, by impersonating Jesus. Satan himself masquerades as an "Angel of Light." (2 Corinthians 11:14)

For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive even the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)

For this belief of a "quiet" thief-like coming is based on this verse. These people base their belief on only half of this verse.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10)

Do you see now, that people base that belief on only half of the verse? In the movies and books, they fail to show the heavens passing with great noise and everything burning with fervent heat and earth being burned up don't you think? Anyone can read a verse in the Bible and run off to make up a doctrine with no real Bible truth behind it. I don't care if these authors claim that these stories are fake or they are real, the fact is that they are deceiving millions and making millions off of a false doctrine. This is pleasing Satan because he knows that nobody studies their Bibles for the truth anymore. That's why I do these messages. I hope that anyone who reads my messages will try to study on their own to obtain truth. So ask yourself, is it possible to worship in vain? Is it possible that we think we are doing the will of God, but actually following one of Satan's teachings? You better believe it! That is why studying is so important, especially in our day and time. Jesus himself said in Matthew 15:9 "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
